According to Article 9, Constitution of the Pan American Association of Anatomists, each country is represented by an "Councilor" and an Alternate. Representatives are designated or elected by the Anatomical Society of theirs respective country.
In countries where there are more than one Anatomical Society, members of the Societies who are Full Members of the Pan American Association of Anatomy meet and elect, by a majority of votes the Official Councilor and Alternate.
In countries with no Anatomical Society, the Official and Alternate Councilors are designated by Full Members from the Institutions, Universities, etc. of that country. If the Councilors are not designated as state above, the Councilors are nominated by the Directive Council from the Full Members of that country, who are present at the Congress.
