The Pan American Association of Anatomy was suggested in 1961 by Dr. Liberato L. J. DiDio during the 74th meeting of the American Association of Anatomy in Chicago (see Anat. Rec. 140:238, 1961). The official formation of the Pan American Association of Anatomy was in Mexico City, 1966 when the III Congreso Nacional de la Sociedad Mexicana de Anatomia met with the I Pan American Congress of Anatomy under the presidency of Dr. Fernando Quiroz Pavia. Subsequent congresses have met every two to four years.
The primary objective of the Pan American Association of Anatomy is to stimulate development and promotion of the Morphological Sciences on the American Continent, by facilitating scientific exchange and friendship among members.
In the electronic age, creation of this web site is a logical step forward in fullfillment of objectives of the Association. The web site was suggested during the XIII Pan American Congress of Anatomy, and the organization leadership hope that it will serve as a source of information for the members.
Your participation will make the Pan American Association of Anatomy viable and vigorous.
